Lifeline Ambulance
Our Company
Lifeline Ambulance consists of a team of over 75 employees who are certified as Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) at the Paramedic and Basic levels of care in the pre-hospital setting. Lifeline Ambulance includes a fleet of seven ambulances staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week and four wheelchair vans, six days a week. The wheelchair vans provide transportation to medical appointments in Winnebago and Boone Counties.
OSF Lifeline Ambulance is dedicated to providing quality pre-hospital care to the residents of Winnebago and Boone counties. Contracted 911 services are provided for the North Park Fire Protection District in Machesney Park, Illinois, and the City of Belvidere in addition to having ambulances stationed in Belvidere, Rockford and Loves Park.
We provide both emergency and non-emergency transports, serving the multiple needs of the residents of our area. We work with all fire protection districts and can transport to any area hospital.
Each unit is equipped for Advanced Life Support (ALS), and is staffed by licensed Emergency Medical Technicians - Paramedic (EMT-P). Emergency Medical Technicians - Basic (EMT-B) may also be on board.

Our Services
ALS or Advanced Life Support includes Basic Life Support service in addition to advanced emergency care provided by qualified Emergency Medical Technicians - Paramedic. The services performed by ALS personnel include:
- Intravenous Therapy
- 2 Lead Cardiac Monitor (EKG)
- Cardiac Defibrillator
- Drug Administration
- Endotracheal Airway
- Relief of Pneumothorax
- Kings LTC -D Airway
- Saline Lock
- Intranasal Medication (MAD)
BLS or Basic Life Support includes non-invasive healthcare procedures and transportation provided by Emergency Medical Technicians-Basic. Services include:
- Patient Assessment
- First Aid
- Oxygen Therapy
- Bleeding Control
- Fracture Management
- Treatment for Shock
Lifeline Ambulance was the first in the region to provide 12-Lead EKG monitoring with the capability of transmitting these results directly to OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center Emergency Department. This life-saving service allows the physician and cardiac team to be ready to treat a heart patient immediately upon arrival at the medical center. This means quicker and more definitive care in identifying and treating life-threatening heart problems.
Lifeline Ambulance provides medical stand-by at numerous community events including high school football games, festivals, county fairs, special events and races.
