• OSF Saint Francis, Inc. Names Executive Director of HEMS

OSF Saint Francis, Inc. is pleased to announce that Theresa Finerty has accepted the position of Executive Director of OSF Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS).

In this new post, Finerty will be responsible for the operations of all three emergency helicopter transport services at OSF, including OSF Life Flight in Peoria; OSF Lifeline (aeromedical only) in Rockford; and OSF Aviation, LLC in Peoria.

Each of these operations is very successful and has produced industry-wide superior quality results with patient safety, transport and operations activities. Finerty will work with each to maximize coordination, collaboration and communication among all three services and realize additional operational efficiencies and effectiveness.

Finerty, from Dunlap, has most recently served as Interim Executive Director of OSF Aviation since March of 2008. She also served as Director of Emergency/Trauma and Patient Care Services at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center from 2002 until 2007. Finerty held other clinical and management positions with OSF since 1989. She received her BSN in Nursing from Bradley University and later achieved a Master of Science Degree in Medical-Surgical Nursing from the University of Illinois at Peoria. She also holds a national certification as a Nurse Executive (NE- BC).
